Links
I’m maintaining way too many pages with links, so here be the personal basics on a couple of subjects, only… some people I know and like:
beaker Virtual Plastic crew member, from start. Also, beaker has his own place with console apps now, of which I find ‘Trim’ extremely useful (any webdeveloper on Windows should have it for .html and .css files). Foremost, I value his opinion.
[extatic] Long gone ‘scene’ member with the right attitude. Indepth tutorials on some customization subjects available. Very active in related French community too (Babelfish just doesn’t cut it).
grigri More VP crew. Grigri’s the coder of the unexpected. I know nobody who understands Windows better from the inside as grigri does. In fact, nobody does, probably. Search VP msgboard for his best software as those are not on his website…
integer …has no personal site, but I work(ed) with him at Skinnables and I can't have a block of friends without him. Building that site from scratch was one of the most exiting things I did online, and I hope and expect to work with him over the years, cause we're good together. He's Brit in the way Brits have some plusses (like good manners ;), except he’s living on the Isle of Man these days.
kmr If it’s a known coding language, Marc ten Bosch knows his way. Php, javascript, html, css, application coding, he does all. Html in UI expert, even when I don’t run webview in Windows, I'm lost without his work (omegabar, html runbox, <link /> toolbar). Like, my desktop owes him big time.
meth(odik) Meth / Jim Stewart first learned what he wanted from Windows, and grew coding skills from the disappointment. That results in übersimple, just what you want them to do tools. Awesome.
PepijnK Pepijn started of as a developer of (still cool) skinnable software, but skins more often these days, plus is around spilling ideas, creates icons and more.
pog(rel)z Matthew Malensek let his domain expire, so that’s a 404, probably. Pity, really. I worked with/under him at defunkt Modzine.net, and he took that pretty far. Man with a vision, would love to work with him in future. Some of his skinnable software still available at skinnables.
Red (CutTheRedWire) Boo! Hey, it’s Red, only he can do that. Bit busy at the moment, but loads of sites have him listed as news reporter. That’s what you get when you care for general well-being of all scenes related.
redllar Darrell has some online history, but is dear to me for being the perfect guy/coder in one. I owe him many feature requests, but that’s totally denying him as a person. He’s just a cool guy.
spyder Jeton Aliji is great with pixels, and design, (another) running mate at Virtual Plastic, and general nice guy from Macedonia. Life views and css exchange going strong.
Tek Cyberbrother and sister crae en Doreen are running thé skinning magazine, and inhabit a select series of music threads and shoutboxes.
Undefined Very knowledgable guy, helpful in a number of forums (if he posts, better trust him above anyone else), coded some essentials too.
WinT Paul took it upon him to disect the ‘executable’ and what followed was a crazy ride in which the whole Windows UI was rebuild. Others post, he writes essays (doesn’t like to be misunderstood) - but they’re enjoyable to read.
/me feels the need to point out some other great people I’ve met, like Blackened, sryo and others don’t have something (in related fields) to link too, yet, one can be a cool person without such a thing. Really.
