any ideas on doing a massive overhaul? i want it to look completely different from normal windows, without changing the shell.

good setup here. a little cluttered but im sure it works great for you. what os is that? kinda looks like that jaguar shell32 i think its called. the wallpaper is really clean although im not totally feeling the chinese looking symbols.

it's actually a snowe2 shell32, but i put in some aqua buttons since i liked those more.

the wallpaper is one i made from an image i found. the chinese is a proverb that i made up as well. i was planning on making some chinese proverb wallpapers, but then i got lazy.

i'm getting a little bored of the plain windows + taskbar look. there must be some way to change it up or at least give the illusion that it's something else. bahh, i'm not making myself clear.

You could always give LiteStep a try. That would help get rid of the taskbar.

i've tried lots of shells before, like carbon, geoshell, sharpe, blackbox, and litestep.

litestep was pretty fun to use for a while, but i was too lazy to learn how to configure it, and i remember i tried one theme and it messed up my system, so i had to do a system restore.

i don't really mind the taskbar as long as i can make it not look like one, haha.

Well, I guess if you wish to keep explorer as the shell, as I do as well, you could always hack your shell to death Check out my site if you haven't for a large selection of some very drastic mods you can do with Resource Hacker.

my wallpaper? i don't know where to upload wallpapers, and i never got permission to share. it's a personal mod, as are the trillian and visual style mods.

and i guess wint's link is wrong, but i have taken a look at the reshacker tutorials. they're very nice, so i'll have to try them out.
