Resource Hacker/menu modding question...
I seem to recall that there is a way to do this, but my searches on google/this board/winT's site were all fruitless... Please tell me i'm not insane
Can one change a menu resource in a exe/
dll such that it will run an external app? meaning, I hack explorer.exe to launch a seperate application by putting a full path as one of the menu items...ugh, I must be tired, I can't even explain myself clearly.
Basically, what I want to do is this: Instead of Start -> Shutdown popping up a dialogue where I have to select shutdown/restart/logoff, I want to have it be a menu where I select Start -> Shutdown -> Restart all in the start menu. shutdown.exe can do exactly what I need as well as a ton of other 3rd party apps...I just need a way to have the menu item call on it.
Any thoughts?
i dont know. (maybe it is impossible with an easy way. i mean maybe you have to use a c++ porogram and completely rewrite some codes in a
dll.. i dont know)
i only use shortcuts in my classic startmenu and i can manage my link items easily . i dont have the regular startmenu. i completely deleted it.
you can disable / delete your classic startmenu and put your own shortcuts / subfolders there.
C:\Documents and Settings\*username*\Start Menu
maybe it is not that what you want but this is also a way to have a completely OWN startmenu with own links / submenus.
