System avi modding

Hi all

I have been trying to mod the avi"s in shell32 #160-164...
No luck , are there any tutorials around.

I am useing PS cs and Imageready for the graphics .
What program should I use to convert the gif to avi.

Lastly can someone post the settings I should use to save the pic as from PS , is indexed 256 ok ?
