Address Bar Error Msg
Okay, for about a month now I have been without my little Address Bar sitting in my taskbar. When I add it to the Taskbar/Toolbar it looks fine, but when I type my address and hit enter an Error Message pops up. The Error Message is below, if anyone has experienced this or knows how to restore the settings PLEASE let me know. WinT told me he had seen it somewhere on VP, but I found nothing. I've also tried Microshit's website and got no luck. Obviously it's an extension I lost. It happend around the time I installed Opera and uninstalled it. Anyway, please help...

Thanks.

It probably just can't find a default Web-Browser when trying to open links..
Paste this into a .reg file:
REGEDIT4
[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\htmlfile\shell\open\command]
@="\"C:\\Program Files\\Internet Explorer\\iexplore.exe\" -nohome"
or download
this .Reg file and run it.
And if that doesn't work, try and find a way to associate URL's with Internet Explorer or Opera again.

if you're on xp, in the start menu (classic mode i guess? never use the normal one), at the top, there's something called "set program access and defaults" and you can set the default browser there.

okay, you may be on to something... yes i'm using XP but the only problem is my start menu has been modded and i can not find that link anywhere. could you possibly check the properties on it and copy and paste the path to it... thanks!!!!!

ok when i check the properties, here's what comes up:
%SystemRoot%\system32\control.exe appwiz.cpl,,3
so it's the control panel, but actually, if i follow the link to the shortcut, i get this:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu
so look in there and you might find the icon that says "set program access and defaults." i see it and i can set the defaults from there.
i gotta go to class now, but i'll come back and try out some more things. hopefully that works.

hmm, that's odd. i thought you'd be able to find the way to set program defaults in xp.
oh well, either way, i'm happy for you!
