Taskbar Possibility
I currently use a browsing program called "Advanced Browser" and it has a completely kewl feature that I have been trying to find.
What it does is removes it's taskbar button/icon and moves it to the system tray. BUT, instead of hiding the window at the same time it allows the window to still be present and usable.
In other words -- Window is opened and functioning; taskbar button gone; icon in system tray.
Does anyone know where or if there is a program/hack/tweak/mod/tool out there that can do this to any and/or all running programs? Send the window icon to the system tray but still leave the window opened?
Thanks for your time.
Rob
Methodik made one called xtray-tasks. Its 52 kb, under GPL, but I don't seem to have the source (does anyone have it?).
Just give your email if you can't find it, and I'll give you a copy.
Thanks, everyone for the replies. I like Methodik's software but the problem I'm having is that it's an all or nothing. As awesome as it is, I was hoping for something that lets me pick and choose which task buttons to stash in the tray.
I downloaded the source for it. I have zero experience coding but I figuered that I might look at it one day.
If anyone has another suggestion I would love to hear it.
