galois webview
OK, I'm about to launch a new webview... simple in appearance but very functional...
Here it is a
screenshot of the FolderGallery created dinamically and some image previewing capabilities within the Explorer here
here...
Please send any requests and some advises for it...
The fancy buttons above the main window mostly do not have any behaviors implemented yet, but the plans are to include media manipulation, batch processing, filesystem tree traversals for file manipulation (like renaming, compiling, etc), system settings, web spidering, leech downloading, etc...
I expect it to be completed within 2 months.

Looks good.
You say you expect it to be completed in 2 months does that mean it doesn't work yet?
Parts aren't working he means. Looks cool. I like the triple preview thing. I use another app to view images, so it may not be useful to me. Still, a very cool idea, and, for those that use the webview, something very handy (once completed that is).

Unfortunately I cannot devote too much time to my project, as much as I'd wish. All what I have to do know is basically programming (or find any good way to get) the thumbnail generation, as simply scaling the images is not a good solution (a brute one by the way...) Either I make some VB image manipulation thing or I will rely on a Java VM. That would mean one would have to have a java JRE running at home... And I know this does not seem very romantic for most people...
But in that way I am done, for I have all the code done and ready to embed... and it's very cool, lots of batch processes included as expressed above.
My main goal is to distribute something that can be extended by anyone, and for that I need my code be clean and fully documented, I am one of those paranoic coders for good, neat, simple style. That way you can add your owns using what's already done(both for the web scripting source and the java code.)
If anyone of you know about any free image libraries with scripting capabilitites, please letme know... the best thing that I heard is ImageMagick (that runs pretty cool in Unix machines) but it doesn't run very easily on win98.

I'm personally looking forward to this, sounds like a fun project.
