May I have virtual desktops but each with its own icons?

I'm a newbbie ... I'm sorry for my question if it's boring you.

I'd like to have virtual desktops on my win2K so I tried many freeware available on the net; all is fine, but all that i tried misses a feature: independent icons on each virtual desktop.

i have only found a shareware, cool desk, wich allow to have independent icons for each desktop.

it's a very powerfull feature for my own use of computer, so i can have a desktop for personal's, university's and work's stuff.

can you help me suggesting me a, possibly freeware, shell extension or win32 application doing the job?

I used to do that all the time with LiteStep.

i thought the one that i had stashed away did this, but i guess i was wrong. i know there's an XP VDM powertoy, though i've never tried to get it to run on 2K, so i don't know if that would work, or if it would do what you want

That powertoy for XP one will let you set multiple wallpapers but not different icons.
