Open target with ResHack (.lnk)
I found this shell extension that opens the target folder of a .lnk file and selects it in explorer.
Then I thought: Maybe we could open the target with Resource Hacker. Really useful if you have lot's of programs on your desktop and you want to edit them immediately without opening explorer.
I tried to edit some things but it didn't work, Windows gives me an error.
Here are the content of two files from "Open target" (a vbs file and a registry file):
vbs file (Select all, and copy/paste in an empty vbs file with Notepad)
' TargetOpen 1.1
' by Mohamed H. Tawfiq(pulp) mhtawfiq at yifan dot net
' this script opens the target folder of a shortcut/.lnk with the target itself highlighted/selected.
dim listfile,filename, target
Set listfile = WScript.Arguments
filename = listfile(0)
set WshShell = WScript.CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
set oShellLink = WshShell.CreateShortcut(filename)
target = oShellLink.TargetPath
WshShell.Run "%windir%\explorer.exe /select," & Chr(34) & target & Chr(34)
Open Target reg file (Select all, and copy/paste in an empty .reg file with Notepad then double click to merge to registry)
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
